Master in Chemical Engineering
Chemical engineering is applied chemistry. It covers the design, construction and running of the machines and plants that carry out chemical reactions, either to solve a practical problem or to make something useful. The work is about change: first understanding a substance properly, then using that understanding to build an answer to a real medical, mechanical or social need. Face cream and fuel both come out of the same science.
You are eligible if you hold a BE, B.Tech, AMIE or equivalent degree in computer science, information science, electronics and communication engineering, telecommunication engineering, or electrical and electronics engineering, with at least 50% marks in aggregate. For candidates in the SC, ST and Group categories the requirement is at least 45%. Admission is through central counselling on merit in PGCET or GATE. A few seats are also available under the sponsored and management quotas. Candidates who have qualified in GATE are eligible for an AICTE scholarship.
